What is a 3D CAD File

A 3D CAD Model is a type of digital file that has been created using Computer Aided Design (CAD) Software. Where the traditional drawings used to be in 2 dimensions (2D), 3D CAD Model have the additional z-axis, i.e. difference between a square and a cube.

3D CAD Models are used to develop 2D drawings. Further, they can be used for producing photo-realistic images and animations. A growing application is for 3D printing.

What kind of images do we produce

Based on the 3D CAD Models we either produced in-house or received from the clients we produce high-quality photo-realistic rendered images. We are able to produce static images of:

  1. Exterior buildings set in a realistic environment
  2. Interior designs  – fully furnished
  3. Product concepts
  4. In Situ Renders – showing products in their real life and realistic environment
  5. Sectioned renders – displaying the internal working of a product
  6. Exploded renders – showing all (or part) of internal parts of a product

How can our 3D CAD models assist you 3D Printing requirements?

JC (Restoric Design) offers to create 3D CAD models with can be exported in a file format suitable for 3D printers. We will use the information provided to create a new 3D CAD model. We will also advise on the best printing process/material for your application.

Further, we are able to provide 3D printed parts.

  • Paper or CAD Drawing

The 3D CAD Models we produce are used as a basis for the CAM (Computer Aided Manufacturing) program. Depending on the machine there are different CAM Softwares such as Mastercam that will translate the 3D CAD program into G-Code for milling or turning.

Casting

Our team of 3D modelers will produce a 3D CAD Model which can be used by a casting company (plastic or metal) as a basis for the mould design.
