SolidWorks creates an automatic ‘cut list’ for all weldment profiles with fabrication information. A cut list table can then be inserted into drawings. However, sometimes it fails to provide you with an option to edit the cut list item information.

weldment-cutlist-1To correct this, there is an option to manually ‘update’ the cut list. Simply right-click on ‘cut list’ and click ‘update’ for the item to be designated a cut list group and item number as shown below. You can now right-click on the cut-list-item(X) group and edit the properties to enter fabrication information such as length and angle.
